Chief Minister’s
State Sports Award
CHENNAI: The Government of Tamil
Nadu has instituted the Chief Minister’s State
Sports Award for meritorious and outstanding
sportspersons for the year 2009-2010. As
per the scheme, applications are invited for
CM’s award from sportspersons who are residing
in Tamil Nadu for the past three years preceding
the Award years 2009-2010 (period from 1-04-2006
to 31-03-2009) and have won medals in recognized
international competitions such as World Cup,
World championships, Olympic Games, Commonwealth
Games and National championships and medalists
in tournaments organized by the concerned
Federations. Those who have won first
three places in individual events and first and
second places in Team Games during the previous
three years can also apply.

Consistent performance in
the three years will only be considered. Those selected
(two men and two women) will be given a cash award for
Rs. one lakh each. The sportspersons should submit
their applications to the Member Secretary through the
Tamil Nadu State Sports Association / District Sports
Officers / Chief Educational Officer / District
Educational Officer / CIPE (men and women).
