Hogenakkal project will be executed on time: Stalin

Dharmapuri (TN) (PTI): The Hogenakkal drinking water project would be executed within the stipulated period by the Tamil Nadu government, Local Administration Minister M K Stalin said here.

All the preliminary works were being carried out by the state government for the Rs 1,334 crore project, funded by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), he said while distributing Rs 18 crore as revolving fund to 3333 Self Help Groups in the district last night.
 

He said the JBIC had already granted Rs 780.55 crore for the project, the work of which was inaugurated a few months ago by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.

Stalin said some political parties of Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states were trying to create obstacles to disrupt the project. However, the state government was confident of executing the project, aimed at meeting the drinking water requirements in the district, as per the stipulated time.
