Jaya Sonia meet "of no political significance" : Vasan

During the diamond jubilee celebrations of the Election Commission in New Delhi, Congress president, Sonia Gandhi and AIADMK leader, Jayalalitha had a brief exchange of greetings. This meeting after 11 years has raised speculations in the state about renewal of relationship between them. Following this meeting, G K Vasan, Union Shipping Minister has said that the meeting has no political significance. He also added that DMK-Congress alliance would be the winning alliance in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in 2011.

It is notable that only after their last meeting in 1999, Jayalalitha decided to withdraw support to the first Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. AIADMK party people are therefore in belief that  the meeting will bring some new changes in the coming election.
