Night Shyamalan and his “The Happening”

Mumbai: Manoj “Night” Shyamalan who is
among one of the very few expatriate Indian
filmmakers to receive Padma Shri is a very happy
man these days. His latest film “The Happening”
is ready to be released very soon, as soon as
mid June.
This author, writer, director, producer and
composer says that The Happening is a
supernatural thriller starring Mark Wahlberg and
is co-produced by Twentieth Century Fox along
with UTV Motion Pictures.
Shyamalan who was born in Pondicherry to
Malayalee father Nelliattu C. Shyamalan, and
Tamilian mother Jeyalakshmi is living in the US
for a very long time and his recent visit to his
motherland comes after almost nine years.
The director who was in Mumbai after a long
period of nine years is creating waves with his
work across the world. He was recently conferred
the coveted award of Padma Shri by Indian
government.
Shyamalan who made his debut film with his saved
money has went on to do some memorable films
including, Praying with Anger , Wide Awake, The
Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, The Village,
Lady in the Water.
