Cell phone seized from Nalini's cell
After 3 days monitoring and a search on Tuesday
morning, Jail Superintendent Rajalakshmi and
officials recovered a cell phone from Nalini's
cell in a cloth bag. The Sim card seems like it
has been purchased in Chennai. According to the
Additional Director-General of Police K R
Shyamsunder, the phone was active and calls to
Canada and London have been made previously in
it. He said that the jail authorities are
looking into the calls made from that mobile and
that after investigation, they will decide upon
the actions to be taken for her violation of the
prison rules.

Nalini was not ready to disclose its source. Her husband
Murugan who is in the Vellore Central Prison also
refused to disclose anything about the cell phone.
Nalini recently made a request for her premature release
for good conduct in the past 19 years in prison and was
rejected by TN government and the Madras High Court.This
sudden seizer is expected to have serious impacts on her
plea for release.
