Concern over the youth's lack of interest in
Tamil culture and literature

The need for removing the disconnect between
younger generation and Tamil language-culture
was stressed at a meeting held on Monday by the
Publicity Committee of the World Classical Tamil
Conference with representatives of the media.
Expressing concern over the youth's lack of
interest in Tamil culture and literature, the
participants gave suggestions to make Tamil
appealing and relevant to the youth through the
use of latest technology. Parithi Ellamvazhuthi,
Information Minister and chairperson of the
committee, said the conference would be used as
an opportunity to address the issue.
