Dental screening camp attempt to enter World
record books

Coimbatore, Oct 5 Local
chapter of Indian Dental Association is taking a
shot at entering both Guinness and Limca Books
of World Records in 'most people involved in
Dental Health Check,' by screening 20,000
patients free of cost within 24 hours on Oct 7.
The event 'TEETH 2010' would begin at 8 AM on
October 7 here and end at 7.59 AM the next day
and try to qualify for a Guinness World Record
as per rules,Dr P Surendran, President, IDA
Coimbatore told reporters here today. The
existing record is held by IDA, Mumbai which
screened 3,377 patients on a single day,
attended by 150 doctors. Stating that 48 dental
surgeons would screen patients that day, with
exclusive dental chairs, he said the camp is
open for schoolchildren, particularly
Corporation-run schools, college students and
the public, who will be given a dental
examination report and treatment plan. patients
who require follow up treatment can avail it
from a list of doctors given to them every
Saturday for the next three months, he said,
adding that procedures like extractions and
fillings would be done free of cost.
