Distributor's association comes to Vijay's aid

Actor Vijay, who is facing a red
card from Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners' Association
(TNTOA), has got much relief after Tamil Nadu
Distributors Association (TNDA) has come forward
to support the troubled actor. It has slammed
theatre owners for trying to block Kaavalan from
its release. Kalaipuli G Sekaran, TNDA chairman,
has urged the TNTOA to abide by the rules of the
association and follow business ethnics. He has
said that profit and loss are two faces of a
coin and we cannot point our fingers at one for
the loss. Will theatres refund audience money if
people complain that the movie is not up to the
mark, he questioned.

On Thursday, the TNTOA announced
that the association will not co-operate Vijay's
movies as he has failed to compensate 35% of the
loss of his 50th film Sura. However, Producer
Aascar Ravichandran has reportedly convinced the
theatre owners in South Tamil Nadu. He is also
in talks with other regional exhibitors. As of
now, he has managed to get 400 theatres, says a
source. However, the Vijay-Asin Thottumkal
starrer Kaavalan negative prints are ready and
the movie bosses are said to be dispatching
abroad by Sunday evening.
