Jaguar Thangam accuses Ajith

CHENNAI: Actor Ajith Kumar continues to make
controversial headlines, with a leading stunt
master of Kollywood accusing him of instigating
the attack on his house in MGR Nagar early on
Thursday. Only last week, at a function to
felicitate Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, Ajit
created a sensation when he openly complained
that actors were being pressured to participate
in film functions and the remark received a
standing ovation from actor Rajinikanth. On
Thursday, Jaguar Thangam (48) met City
Commissioner of Police T Rajendran and presented
a petition, alleging that more than 15 persons,
including Ajit’s manager, his personal assistant
and members of his fan association, attacked his
house around 2 am. The stunt master said he was
in Madurai in connection with a film shoot at
the time of the incident. His actor-son
Chiranjeevi answered the door and found a gang
armed with knives, wooden logs, petrol bombs and
crowbars outside. They abused and passed
casteist remarks against him.

Jaguar Thangam said even as the group
continued to issue threats, his son called him over the
cell phone. “I cautioned him not to open the door and
asked him to wait till I returned.” The gang damaged the
windshield and windows of his Scorpio car, he alleged.
Demanding action against Ajith Kumar and others for
causing damage to his property, he sought police
protection for him and his family members. Sources said
the police chief forwarded the complaint to MGR Nagar
police station. A complaint was registered against 15
persons, including Ajit’s manager, under sections 147,
148 for causing damage to the car and trespass.
