Napoleon’s car attacked near Madurai

MADURAI: Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment D Napoleon’s car was attacked here on Monday by AIADMK cadre who lined up to welcome their party general secretary J Jayalalithaa from Madurai Airport. According to police sources, Napolean reached Madurai at 1.30 pm from Chennai through Indian Airlines carrier IC 671. He was on his way to Tirunelveli by road in his car when the incident took place. When his car came near Mandela Nagar, intersecting the crowd which was brimming in the road to welcome the AIADMK chief who was here to take part in a demonstration against ruling DMK condemning its anti-people policies, a few miscreants pelted stones. The windshield of the car was damaged. However, the Union Minister was safe, the sources said. So far, no complaint had been received from the Minister’s side.
