No tax cut for films without Tamil titles

CHENNAI: The Tamilnadu Government today said it would not give Entertainment Tax exemption for films which do not have titles in Tamil. An official press release said the decision was taken after discussions with the film industry, many of whom have benefited from the tax exemption. Based on the earlier guidelines, any film not having Tamil name would not be given entertainment tax exemption, it said. This decision was because of many fancy film names , which was claimed as Tamil but not actually Tamil names.
