Rieter Automotive sets up plant in Chennai

 


Chennai, Oct 6 Rieter Automotive Systems, 100 per cent subsidiary of Switzerland-based Rieter Group and Nihon Tokushu Toryo (Nittoku), today inaugurated their new plant Rieter Nittoku Automotive Sound Proof Products India at Oragadam near here with an investment of USD 15 million. "The opening is the latest step in the company''s ongoing strategy of expanding in Asia to meet demand in the region''s booming markets," a company statement here said. The facility would currently have 140 jobs at the facilities, which the company would increase to significant numbers over the next few years, it said. The city plant is the fourth facility for Rieter Nittoku joint venture in Asia, and it would supply products based on the latest technology from Europe and Japan, it said.

 

 

 

 

Rieter Automotive Systems opened its first India plant in 2006, manufactures felt, NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) and damping parts.
The facility is spread over 11 acres (45,000 m2) produces molded carpets, acoustic dashboard solutions, engine compartment parts and aluminum heatshields. The next expansion phase would be in 2011, which would also increase the number of automotive jobs in the facility.Initially the facility would serve some of its clients including Renault Nissan Automotive India and Toyota Motor India car manufacturing facility, it said.
