Surya launches Aircel 3G experience zones at Chennai

Chennai, Nov 4 : The 3G experience zone in Chennai was launched by actor Suriya who made the first 3G video call, stating that it is an amazing experience. Aircel has become the first commercial telecom service providers in launching 3G service experience zone at Chennai. This will help the Chennai customers to get the experience of the third generation mobile telephony. Addressing the media, Mr. Gurdeep Singh said that, the company has set up four 3G experience zones here in Chennai, in order to enable the consumers to access and know more about 3G services. This zone would provide services such as Interactive video voice response (IVVR), Video calls and 3G pocket internet portals, said Mr. Gurdeep Sigh. The company invests around $500 million for offering 3G facilities and relatively equal amount for 2G services. The investments would be through borrowing and shareholders equity. Aircel is India’s 5th largest GSM service provider with over 47 million subscribers. There would be four 3G experience zone spread across Chennai at Atrium – Spencers Plaza, Fun City- Express Avenue, Atrium – Citi Centre & Aircel Store PH Road.
