TN government writes to centre for Parvathi Ammal's entry

TN government has atlast written a letter to Central government to allow Parvathi, mother of late LTTE chief Prabhakaran to enter India for  medical treatment. Parvathi ammal suffers from paralysis and when she  arrived in Chennai last month from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to have medical treatment in Tiruchirapalli, she was sent back to Malaysia by immigration officials in Chennai due to law and order problems. Soon after this issue, TN chief minister Karunanidhi declared in assembly that he was unaware of her arrival and that if she wants to undergo treatment in TN, he would write to the Centre regarding the same.

On May 3, TN's Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin said in the state assembly that they have received an email from Parvathi ammal with her finger print sent to Chief Minister's Special Cell on April 30 requesting them to help her get a visa to travel from Kuala Lumpur to Tiruchirappalli and that TN government has written to Union Home Secretary G K Pillai to let her come if she accepts certain conditions. He also referred to the direction given by the Madras High Court in a case on last Friday to the government to consider her or the petitioner's appeal.
